The Second Amendment

The Law & Constitution, and the Right to Bear Arms

As a member of the National Rifle association I support the constitutional right to bear arms. My father has been a police officer for over 30 years, so I grew up around firearms and was taught and trained to respect them. Our founding fathers also believed that an individual’s right to bear arms was important. In fact, it was so important that it was the second amendment ever to be included in our Constitution. I stand behind the Second Amendment 100%.

Supporting Patriots

Defending the interests of first-responders

As an attorney, I have represented Volunteer Fire Departments and other first-responders throughout the State of Alabama. When these organizations were sued or otherwise needed legal assistance, I was called on to defend them and it was an honor to do so. It’s very important to me that all first-responders know their elected officials support them. These first-responders are putting their lives on the line and should be defended as such.

Faith & Family

Supporting community initiatives & programs

My mom gave me the greatest gift of this life by teaching me about Jesus. We are living in a country where drug abuse and violence prevail and our society doesn’t know what to do about it. I think that our churches play an important role in teaching young people that a destructive lifestyle is not the answer. Lives are changed when you have Jesus in your heart and that is the responsibility of the church. I think we need judges who are involved in the faith-based community and support thriving community initiatives.

Drug Epidemic
& Policy

Supporting faith & community-based addiction programs

The number one issue facing Cherokee and DeKalb Counties is the drug abuse epidemic. In my role as a lawyer, judge, prosecutor, and public defender, I see the devastating effects of drug abuse from all sides. In my opinion, a majority of non-drug crimes are also committed due to drug addiction. If we, as a community, can come together and push for real solutions on the drug abuse issue, it will make our communities safer and more prosperous.

I support making it easier for faith-based and other community-based addiction programs to help those struggling with addiction, because when God changes a heart, habits change as well. However, we must also bring justice to those convicted of selling and making drugs. When law enforcement does their job and secure a conviction on a drug deal, a judge should do his job, follow the law, and bring swift punishment against a drug dealer.
